Vacancy: particle physicist / nuclear engineer

Our engineers are involved in a wide variety of technical projects. Typical projects for us involve designing on the edge of what is possible. An example of such a project is the LightHouse project. The goal of this project is to produce Mo99 using a 3 MW electron accelerator. Demcon is developing the concept for the target and its surroundings while solving extreme challenges in thermal management, radiation damage and radiation protection. This is where you come in. We are looking for a candidate with a background in particle physics/nuclear engineering and experience with Monte Carlo simulations for radiation transport. You will be part of the radiation and shielding team and work together with colleagues from various disciplines (mechanical engineering, system engineering, physics, radiation safety etc.) to assess the radiation environment and find solutions for concept design and radiation protection by the means of Monte Carlo simulations (primarily FLUKA).
